If You Run Out of Bullets

by Tamer S. Mostafa

If you find yourself hiding
in a circumference field
of spent shells and lead tips
with gunpowder burns
browning the skin,
don’t stop to blame
the manufacturer
for the limitations
one person can carry
in a holster belt,
ankle clips,
chest straps,
and other vacant
spots.

You were trained
for gun fights
and it is your job to stock up on
different calibered ammunition
knowing
that every magazine has a capacity.
